Abstract

Factors influencing shipment performance of the Greater Chinese notebook PC industry in 2009 included the shortage in supply of several key components on the supply side and, on the demand side, included the intensified DTR (Desktop Replacement) effect and the increasing seasonal demand in key markets, which had positive impact on the industry. Greater Chinese notebook PC shipment volume totaled approximately 120 million units for full year 2009, up 6.3% year-on-year. This report profiles the Greater Chinese notebook PC industry's five-year development trends in the period 2005-2009, analyzes the industry's shipment volume and value in 2009, with breakdowns by screen size, production location and shipment destination, and analyzes industry development in 2010 and beyond.
